Current topic: The Holy Spirit
The late Dr. Myles Munroe,in one of his sermons, stated that "The Holy Spirit is the most important person on planet earth".
This supernatural being has been the topic of many books, sermons, debates, discussions etc.
Those who don't believe in the truth of God's word and the spirit world or realm, most likely will have a hard time believing or understanding this individual.
I have always been a believer in the Trinity
1 John 5:7 - for there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, The Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Genesis 1:26 - And God said Let us make man in our image, after our likness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
The words "us and our" are plural. So the quesion is who s God talking to? Answer.....he's talking to himself. There's more....
Genesis 3:22 - And the Lord God said, behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:
In Genesis 11:1-4 - a group of men, drew up some blueprints for a city and tower whose top would reach unto heaven.
God Pays the construction site a visit Genesis 11:5-6
Genesis 11:7 - Go to let "us" go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
The tower of Babel, God confounds the men's speech.
Genesis 48:16- Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the begining; from the time that it was there am I and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
In the above scripture, "Finis Dake" (Dake' Bible) explains the dialogue.....
In verses 1-15 God is speaking to Israel, Then in verse 16 there seems to be a change in speakers.....
Here is a clear reference to the Divine Trinity of separate and distinct persons in the Elohim of scripture.....
* The Lord God (one person)
* The Holy Spirit (another person)
* The Messiah (still another person) sent by the two, the Lord God and the Holy Spirit (vs. 16)
Dake's Bible page 489 says the following......
What we mean by Divine Trinity is that there are three separate and distinct persons in the Godhead, each one having his own personal spirit body, personal soul, and personal spirit in the same sense each human being, angel,or any other being has his own body, soul, and spirit. We mean by body, the house for the indwelling of the personal soul and spirit. The soul is that which feels and the spirit is that which knows.
Dake's Bible pag 490..........
We submit the following facts in scripture to prove a Divine Trinity of separate persons in the Godhead:
The word one means one in unity as well as one in number. It means unity in 1 John 5:7 as does in John 17:11,21-23, and yet these three persons, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, are spoken of as one, each in number and individuality in scripture. There is one God the Father, one Lord Jesus Christ and one Holy Ghost 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:3-6. Thus there are three separate persons in divine individuality and divine plurality.
* The word God is used either as a singular or a plural word, like sheep.
The following was taken from a sermon preached by "Charles Spurgeon" on June 20 1858 entitled "The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit".
Charles Spurgen
Text taken from the book of Acts 10:44-48.....
The Doctrine of the Trinity is taught in the Holy Word. The word trinity itself is not found there, but the three divine persons of the one God are frequently and constantly mentioned.
The word makes sure that we believe this great truth concerning Christianity.......
That the Father is God
That the son is God
That the spirit God
And yet there are not three God's but one God, though each of them are God, yet three in one and one in three is the Jehovah that we worship.
The Following is from a sermon by David Wilkerson
"Getting to know the Holy Spirit" John 14:16-18
Vs.17 - we know him he dwells with you
David Wilkerson
The Holy Spirit is a spirit of truth which overwhelms our feelings.
Q: How Do you know the Holy Spirit?
A: I know him by what he is doing in my life
1) He will teach Christ to me
2) Will plant a thirst in you to get to know Christ more
3) You will see a change in your behavior - stop gossiping - stop being mean spirited.
4) Even though the Holy Spirit has come down to us...we live and act like he's dwelling somewhere out in the cosmos. We act as if he is not here.
5) He will be your teacher, your friend. He is not a spy from heaven. He searches men's hearts but not to find something or to get us on something. Rather he comes because he is sent as our friend. He searches to find the good and bring it out of us and present it to the heavenly father.
It's just as if Jesus Christ is here with you leading and guiding you and living in your home.
The Holy Spirit is spread throughout the whole world with all the resources we need, just as in the time of Christ.
2 Primary ministries of the Holy Spirit
Refs. David Wilkerson
1) Jesus calls him comforter, so how does he comfort? When trouble comes he reminds me that I am a child of God.
2) Been sent to wage war against lust and entertainment of our flesh........this battle will continue for the rest of your life. Galatians 5:17
John 16:7-15 - Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Of sin, because they believe not on me ***
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
Of Judgment, because the prince of this world s judged.
I have yet many things to say unto you but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth, is come,he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
*** please note that Jesus called it sin when a person does not believe on him......do you believe?
Zac Poonen
Brother Zac Poonen said the following.........
Jesus helped with eternal problems- storms, food, not enough wine, sickness, blindness. Nevertheless the Holy Spirit can do more while working from the inside. The Holy Spirit takes care of external and internal problems - sin, lust, anger, pride, jealousy.
Mr. poonen gave this example...... he told of how they would treat a person who had sores on his hands and arms and would then rub some type o medicated cream directly on the sore.....this brought temporary relief but it never solved the problem because the sores kept coming back. Then came the discovery of the "antibiotic" which allowed this person with the sores, to take a pill, that would not only get rid of the sores his skin, but it will also keep them from coming back.
Andrew Murray
Andrew Murray stated.... Some think that when a person receives the Holy Spirit, he as reached a state of perfection....wrong!!! When one truly has the Holy Spirit it makes one very gentle, very humble, very muchworried about sinning against God and very tender, lest he be led to walk astray. He has a spirit of deep humility and fear of pride.

My research into the Holy Spirit was most exciting and emotional as I read about this supernatural being who was sent here to help all those who will receive him.
How do you receive the Holy Spirit? It's time to take your eternal destiny very serious, and the Holy Spirit is more than happy to help you along the way....be sure to call on him....and trust him....he will brighten your way of thinking.
